"Composition in Red" combines principles from traditional Chinese calligraphy with Western gestural painting. It was created using Western and Chinese ink on photographic paper.

This artwork was featured in a book by the renowned Sinologist and writer Prof. Wolfgang Kubin, published in 2023. The book includes 20 illustrations by Friedrich Zettl, who also designed the cover.
